An EDF Energies Nouvelles Company, enXco Service Canada, has entered into a contract with Cartier Wind Energy, a developer of wind energy projects, to supply remote monitoring services to the 109.5 MW Baie-des-Sables Wind Farm, which is situated at Baie-des-Sables in Quebec.
The Baie-des-Sables Wind Farm contains 73 GE 1.5-MW SLE wind turbines and was commissioned in November 2006. It has been providing clean energy to nearly 21000 households. Cartier will monitor the Baie-des-Sables project and conduct remote dispatch or resets, which is done according to the requirements of Cartier's wind technicians, using enXco's Operations Control Center (OCC).
Timothy Fratta who serves as the O&M Business Development Manager at enXco Service Canada stated that the company is happy to supply its NERC-compliant OCC according to the requirements of Cartier in Gaspésie. Efficient remote monitoring is a worthy device for wind farm owners that confirm whether resets are conducted in a safe manner in less time.
Under different agreements, enXco offers remote monitoring services to five solar projects with a total capacity of 4,675 MW and 46 wind projects including 2,798 wind turbines.
In North America, the company is developing, building, owning and operating wind energy projects. Across North America, enXco with its American affiliate offers O&M services to over 5,000 wind turbines producing 5,200 MW of wind energy. The company is a pioneer in wind energy for over 20 years.
