Sabert, a company dealing with food packaging, has installed solar systems at its east coast sites.
This is the second solar system installation and the first solar system was installed at its west coast unit.
The solar arrays were modeled and built by Vanguard Energy Partners, which develops solar systems, at Sabert’s Northeast production unit and Research and Development Center (RDC), which are situated at Sayerville, New Jersey.
The 3.176 MW solar system is a roof mount installation and has been built in 2011. The power produced helps Sabert to reduce its electricity expenditure.
The arrays are anticipated to generate about 3,652,400 kWh of clean energy during the first year. This power is equal to eliminate approximately 5,552,415 lbs of carbon dioxide emissions, which is equivalent to conserve 5,857 barrels of oil or removing 494 vehicles from the road.
Sabert is a pioneer in food packaging industry. From 1984, the company designs, produces and distributes quality solutions to package, display, serve and store food. The head office of the company is based at Sayerville in New Jersey. Other facilities are located at Kentucky and California and production units in China and Belgium.
Vanguard Energy Partners focuses on modeling and installing solar systems. From 2003, the company has installed more than 50 MW of solar projects. Furthermore, the company’s Energy Maintenance Solutions (EMS) Division maintains and monitors more than 52 MW of solar projects.
