Umeco will be exhibiting its Structural materials and Tooling prepreg technologies for the renewable energy market on Stand F89 at the 2012 All-Energy show in the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre - Bridge of Don, Aberdeen on the 23 and 24 May.
The stand will feature a 1/72 scale model of the Sea-Spider, Renewergen Ltd’s 70m diameter 6.5 MW vertical axis tidal energy device designed to capture the energy that is contained within a large moving body of water. Simon Sanderson and his business partner David Loughlin have been awarded a £100,000 grant from the East of England Development Agency (EEDA) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to develop their Sea-Spider technology.
Renewergen Ltd. chose Umeco Structural materials as their preferred composites partner for the project both for our ability to customise and engineer our prepregs for specific end applications, and for our experience in the tidal energy generation sector.
We will be promoting our advanced Variable Temperature Moulding (VTM®) and Medium Temperature Moulding (MTM®) resin systems and flexible production methodology at the show. Our materials and ability to provide a custom materials service have made us a leading supplier of prepregs for manufacturing turbine blades, spars, supporting structures and components for wind, wave and tidal energy generating projects.
Richard Horn, Renewable Energy Sector Manager – Umeco Structural materials, said: “We are keen to promote our ‘Concept to Reality’ service to new and existing device developers in all sectors of the renewable energy market. Umeco has considerable expertise and offers assistance with design analysis, tooling, prototyping and pilot production, as well as being able to supply material for any project, regardless of its size or complexity. All-Energy is the ideal exhibition to showcase our latest product developments. We look forward to another successful event.”
