Data Based Systems International (DBSi), which offers data center, Disaster Recovery, Cloud computing and other services in the Northeast, declared that it has entered into a contract with Exelon Energy, an energy provider, for purchasing Renewable Energy Certificates, through which DBSi Pennsylvania data centers can receive renewable energy.
DBSi has purchased more than 7.7 million kWh of Renewable Energy Certificates, which prevents about 5,862 t of CO2 emissions. This is equal to power 663 average American houses for a year.
William A. Bachenberg who serves as the Chief Executive officer of DBSi, stated that for more than 10 years, the company has been involved in including energy efficient instruments and latest designs across their data centers and facilities. The efforts taken include cooling methodologies, distribution of electricity, thermal dynamics within every building and monitoring facilities. By this Renewable Energy Certificates purchase, the company has extended its dedication to cut down carbon footprint while continuing its support to develop renewable, clean energy resources.
The company offers data center services such as WAN, backups, monitoring and administration, managed hosting, conventional Colocation to several clients in diiferent fields, which includes financial and healthcare sectors. Further, Disaster Recovery solutions such as redundant data center configurations, email failover, remote backup, real time data replication, virtualization and conventional tape based recovery. DBSi’s head office is based in Bethlehem and it operates from three locations including Breinigsville, PA, Valley Forge and Bethlehem.
