On April 30th the Bill Jacobs Auto Group ushered in a new age of re-fuelling a vehicle when they opened up their brand-new vehicle solar charging station in Joliet, IL. The solar charging station, which is located in the middle of the Joliet, IL Cadillac dealership and Chevy dealership's lot is only one of two in the entire state of Illinois. There are six stations that allow customers to come in and charge their vehicles so that they can continue on their way without running out of energy. The Auto Group staff is very proud of this renewable resource and knows that it will be a big hit with hybrid and electric drivers.
"With the addition of the solar charging station here in our lot, we can now provide a great convenience to Chevy Volt drivers," said Brad Wise, GM of Bill Jacobs Chevrolet. "This station is both a great asset for our dealership and the Joliet community that we hope many people will take advantage of."
The solar charging station is open to all customers, past and present, and those who want to come in and check out a new Chevy Volt in Joliet, IL. This free energy will allow people who have a break in their day, or just need to re-fuel their vehicle to stop by and "top off" the electricity in their Volt.
"The efficiency of the Chevy Volt is apparent to consumers and a free charging station located right here in Joliet is a powerful reason to check out this car," said Wise.
Having a solar charging station located in a city could mean big things for a community such as Joliet and the employees of the dealership are very excited about the opening of the station.
"We are very excited to have this station located right in our very own city and we know the community will be ecstatic about this free service," said Cynthia Thrall, President of Bill Jacobs Chevrolet. "Producing less emissions and providing this green service to Joliet will bring more attention to these environmentally conscious vehicles that are the future of autos."
With the solar charging station now open to the public, the dealership hopes to expand the knowledge of the Chevy Volt and future General Motors hybrid vehicles to customers. The Bill Jacobs Auto Group would like to invite anyone to come out and see the solar charging station for themselves and "fill up" for free at the dealership.
