Anticipating superior illumination with energy-efficiency, the parking garage lighting of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport was replaced with Cooper Lighting’s LED fixtures.
Each of the 4,342 210-W metal-halide fixtures in the airport’s north and south parking decks were replaced with 80-W McGraw-Edison Valet LED fixtures from Cooper Lighting. The officials at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport decided to carry out this replacement operation after receiving grants from the City of Atlanta Green Loan Fund. This initiative will contribute to reduction in annual costs amounting to half a million dollars, besides providing increased energy-efficiency.
The City of Atlanta's Office of Sustainability states that this project will lead to carbon reduction equivalent to removing 500 cars from the road.
Cooper's Valet LED fixtures’ superior optical control ensures uniform and energy-efficient illumination that can be optimized for better pedestrian safety and movement of vehicles as well as used for various parking structure applications. The modular LightBAR technology from Cooper with patented AccuLED Optics system ensures energy-conserving, uniform illumination. Airport officials considered Cooper’s innovative technology and optics system to be the major factors promoting excellent light distribution in the Airport parking garages. The Valet LED fixtures will enable reduction in maintenance costs and longer durability up to 50,000 h.
Cooper Lighting has an excellent history of providing premium lighting solutions to meet various lighting challenges. Cooper’s extensive range of outdoor and indoor LED lighting products and controls have been designed specifically to provide maximum energy and cost conservation.
