Suntech Power, a key solar panel manufacturer, and Propmech, a major engineering, procurement and construction firm, have announced the completion of a 571 kW solar rooftop installation at the Asian Development Bank's (ADB) headquarters located in Manila, Philippines.
Propmech integrated and installed the new solar system that features Suntech Power’s superior-quality solar modules. The solar installation is the largest rooftop solar system in Philippines as it is capable of generating over 600 MW of solar electricity and eliminating 307 t of carbon dioxide annually. The inauguration ceremony was conducted on June 5, 2012.
Suntech Power’s Founder, Chairman Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Zhengrong Shi stated that the company is happy to collaborate with Propmech to install ADB's rooftop solar system. This solar project corroborates that the collaboration between bankable partners and advanced solar products are capable of providing an economic solution for power generation throughout Southeast Asia.
According to Propmech’s Managing Director, Helen Tong, the company selected Suntech Power not because of its superior quality offering with a warranty period of 25 years but it shares Dr. Shi's vision of delivering solar electricity to the Filipino people.
Suntech Power is the pioneer in promoting solar energy adoption in the Southeast Asian region. The company together with local partners offers cost-efficient, superior-quality solar electricity solutions. Through its strong distribution network in the Southeast Asian region, the company delivers tailor-made solar products for use in a variety of solar applications.
