Argus has announced that a series of latest market assessments has been introduced for carbon markets in West America and California and renewable energy certificates (RECs).
The company’s expanded California coverage includes California renewable energy certificates and its improvements to its already existing California carbon allowances coverage. Daily volume-weighted average data is included in the expanded California coverage for delivery in December 2013. Other enhancements include Ohio’s in-state, non-solar assessments, Maryland Tier-1 and Western Electricity Coordinating Council Area.
The company will publish the new data in its Air Daily. Extensive market price data for renewable energy of any publisher, which includes Texas, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Connecticut as well as the national green e-voluntary market, is being already offered in the Argus Air Daily.
Additional Green-e and new California instruments will provide significant information of the market for use in power generators all over Western America and in California.
Since last month, the company has been issuing carbon-adjusted marginal heat rates, spark spreads and the cost of carbon per MWh of the power plants that are currently operating at the SP-15 power zone, located in South California.
The company is already a publisher of price appraisals for carbon offsets, provided by the Climate Action Reserve, and carbon offsets of Alberta, and volume-weighted average indexes for the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, in other carbon markets of North America.
