Schletter, a provider of solar mounting systems, has planned to shift its headquarters to the East Coast as part of its efforts to provide better customer service in the area and reduced shipping costs.
More US production illustrates Schletter’s commitment to offer ARRA compliant products, to support creation of jobs, and to promote energy saving in large photovoltaic structure transportation. The company has reserved a $25 million investment package to acquire highly-automated energy-saving production systems, capital equipment and a 100,000-square-foot facility. Moreover, it intends to employ over 300 new workers over the coming five years.
The new headquarters will house administration, sales, engineering, and technical customer service in place. It will provide a complete-scale product demonstration park where on-site NABCEP certified courses will be offered to customers. With this relocation, Schletter will now have three full-scale manufacturing facilities in North America, of which two facilities are in the US and one in Canada. The company will report its decision regarding the final location in the coming four weeks.
Schletter will carry on its production in Ontario, Canada, Arizona, and at the new headquarters. The company will keep on opening sales and customer service centers in major markets throughout the nation, as witnessed with the office opening in Hartford, Connecticut, in this fiscal quarter. The new headquarters in the East Coast will be the company’s fourth location in the North American region.
Schletter’s President, Martin Hausner stated that the company’s Tucson site continues to serve customers west of the Mississippi, while the new production headquarters will serve customers east of the Mississippi without any difference in time. This relocation will continue the company’s objective of lowering expenditures to better serve customers.
