Plastics Make it Possible offers tips to conduct more sustainable parties without compromising convenience, style and safety.
A majority of the people prefers shatter-resistant plastic tableware for outdoor celebrations to prevent the trouble and scarp generated from the breakage of ceramic plates or fragile wine glasses. Nowadays, more number of novel and aesthetically pleasing plastic cups, serving dishes, plates and even cooking tools are available for outdoor celebrations.
It is important to identify in advance what type of plastics and materials can be recycled in a particular region because recycling programs differ throughout the country. Plastic bottle recycling is accessible to over 90% of Americans. In fact, over 40% of American have access to non-bottle rigid plastic containers such as deli takeout containers and yogurt cups.
Recyclables can be separately collected by placing a clearly labeled recycling bin adjacent to the trashcan. Product wraps and plastic bags can be returned at the end of the party to participating retail and grocery stores, including Lowe’s, Target, and Wal-Mart, for recycling. These items include the plastics that are used for wrapping products such as diapers, paper towels and water bottles. Another tip is to use recycled plastics-based tableware in parties, thus creating new purposes for this material.
The American Chemistry Council’s Vice President of Plastics, Steve Russell informed that it is simple to celebrate outdoor parties without generating much waste.
