Charter Fuels has displayed autogas-powered vehicles and demonstrated fueling options for fleets and affordable vehicle conversions via the national Alliance AutoGas complete program at the Wisconsin Clean Cities’ Propane in the Park event, which took place in Grafton, Wisconsin on July 25, 2012.
Propane autogas is 30% cleaner than gasoline and it increases engine life and decreases maintenance needs. At present, autogas-powered vehicles save approximately $1.25 per gallon when compared to gasoline. America manufactures 98% of the US autogas supply and this alternative fuel powers 18 million vehicles worldwide.
The event showcased autogas pick-up trucks and various models of propane lawn mowers. It was mainly organized to bring propane industry experts together to educate fleets in Milwaukee about clean propane autogas technology. Josh Budworth and Bill Langlois of Charter Fuels displayed propane mowers and two autogas Ford F-150s.
Langlois stated that shifting to propane autogas, a reliable vehicle fuel, helps US fleets to save fuel and maintenance costs and also cleans up the air in the local communities. He added that events similar to ‘Propane in the Park’ are an excellent platform to promote the advantages of autogas and increase the number of U.S. fleets running on this inexpensive clean fuel.
Budworth stated that through the Alliance AutoGas program, fleets can switch over to propane autogas without upfront cost. Alliance AutoGas offers fleets with autogas conversions, setting up of a fuel station at a fleet’s base, ongoing technical support, operational and safety training and data integration for fuel management systems.
