Pre-Cast Concrete Columns for Rapid Deployment of Solar Shaded Parking Products

Envision Solar International, a provider of sustainable infrastructure products, has reported the successful completion of the engineering and manufacturing process of its pre-cast concrete columns designed for the company’s Solar Tree arrays, which are solar shaded parking products.

The new pre-cast column technology enables quicker and more organized deployment of Envision Solar’s Solar Tree arrays. This technology forms part of the company’s Drag & Drop Infrastructure product line, which is a modularized approach towards the best way for deploying solar shaded parking products within a short period of time and without causing any interruption in the field.

The President and CEO of Envision Solar, Desmond Wheatley stated that this will result in better quality, reduced risk and costs, and improved satisfaction for customers.

Envision Solar’s Director of Program Management, Peter Seiler commented that the pre-cast concrete column is manufactured in a controlled environment. This enables them to realize high quality results and also complete the process of delivery and deployment, thus allowing it be installed directly. Cast-in-place methodology, on the other hand, takes up a lot of time in terms of days. The pre-cast concrete column technology enables installation within hours.

Owners of parking lots worry about disruption to their businesses, when performing new installations. The pre-cast concrete column technology lays rest to such fears. In case the owner of the parking lot decides to redevelop the facility, then the Solar Tree structures can also be relocated easily. Further, various equipment and systems such as SunCharge column-integrated EV charging stations, the EnvisionTrak solar tracking system, lighting and the company’s branding can be integrated into the column.

The pre-cast columns are being deployed in California, Michigan, and Colorado.
