Wind turbine manufacturer China Ming Yang Wind Power Group’s subsidiary, Guangdong Mingyang Wind Power Group and China Huaneng Group’s subsidiary, Huaneng Renewables, a major Chinese pure-play renewable energy company specializing in wind power production, have established a joint venture to develop solar and wind power projects in China and international markets.
In the joint venture, Huaneng Renewables will own 63% stake and Guangdong Mingyang will have the lingering 37% stake. The Joint Venture will concentrate on the development and operation of solar and wind power projects mainly in Southern China, with an objective to become a national and global developer and operator of superior-quality wind power farms.
Huaneng Renewables’ President and Executive Director, Gang Lin stated that the company is happy to team up with China Ming Yang Wind Power Group in the establishment of this joint venture. Ming Yang's leadership in Guangdong province and its wind resources available in that region provide Huaneng Renewables geographical advantages in Southern China. With the company’s expertise throughout China as an advantage, the joint venture can be successful countrywide and beyond.
China Ming Yang Wind Power Group’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Chuanwei Zhang stated that this joint venture is a significant achievement in the development of the company’s strategic collaborations in the wind power market. This joint venture helps the company to become a major developer and operator of wind power farms not only in Southern China but also widening its reach throughout the country and worldwide in the years to come.
