FEV, a company engaged in the development of vehicle technologies and power trains catering to the transportation industry, has been recognized by the California Air Resources Board as an independent laboratory authorized and suitably outfitted to carry out emissions testing as per the Californian and Federal regulations applicable for on-road applications of heavy duty diesel engines.
The announcement about the company’s endorsement as an independent emission test laboratory was made by FEV President and CEO, Gary Rogers.
The California Air Resources Board awarded the recognition on the basis of test data and laboratory information presented by FEV. The recognition is specific to FEV’s laboratory at their North American Technical Center located in Auburn Mills in Michigan. The laboratory of FEV is authorized to perform four types of emission tests namely, Heavy-duty diesel engine transient Federal Test Procedures, Not To Exceed test procedures, Supplemental Emission Test, steady-state testing with Ramped Modal Cycle and Part 1065 compliant equipment. FEV is now part of an elite group of laboratories that have achieved recognition from the Air Resources Board to carry out the emission tests. Apart from FEV, there are only two other laboratories that the Air Resources Board recognizes as equipped to perform the Part 1065 compliant instruments test.
The FEV Test Systems division provides sophisticated test equipment and test cells worldwide. The total skilled resource strength of the FEV group is 2,200 at its advanced technical centers located in three continents. Of the 2,200, approximately 350 resources are employed at the North American Technical Center.
