Canadian Solar Modules Selected for Turkey's 96 kW Governmental PV Project

Canadian Solar, a global provider of environmentally-friendly solar products and solar system solutions, has announced that it has been selected to provide solar modules for Turkey's governmental solar PV project. The 96 kW PV project is Turkey's first and largest governmental project.

Gehrlicher Merk Solar, which is a joint venture company between Gehrlicher Solar and Merk Solar Enerji, will be installing the PV modules. The Turkish Prime Minister's office is directly supporting this project for the Gursu municipality of Bursa in Turkey.

Canadian Solar's CS6P-P modules are to be used in the Gursu PV project. This module features a 0 ~ +5W positive power tolerance, a self-cleaning surface with anti-reflective properties, and provides high energy yield even at low NOCT. It has a strong frame that can a bear a load of up to 5400 PA. Even at low irradiance these PV modules provide good performance. The CS6P-P modules carry a linear power output warranty for 25 years and product warranty on workmanship and materials for 10 years.

The PV USA (PTC) ratings provide an indication of the actual power output and performance of solar system. The Canadian Solar module delivered well against these ratings.

The temperature conditions and isolation rates in Turkey, favor it as one among the large emerging markets for solar energy in the world. Further, the government’s decision to encourage solar power generation and also simplify the licensing process will lead to more solar PV projects.
