Landshark Lager has announced its partnership with Ocean Conservancy for the 27th annual International Coastal Cleanup Day on September 15.
The worldwide event is an effort to induce people to reduce the impact of the trash they generate and also call upon volunteers to clean up rivers, lake fronts and coastlines. Over 500,000 volunteers are expected in this year’s global clean-up efforts.
Landshark Lager and Ocean Conservancy have collaborated to host the Landshark Fin-tastic Voyage which involves beach cleanups and other events for keeping the coasts clean. The Landshark Fin-tastic Voyage event culminates on September 15. It included concerts and stand up paddleboarding events. It was conducted from June and volunteers were invited for participating in the beach cleanup events to keep the coast trash free. The event was hosted in Jersey Shore, Myrtle Beach, West Palm Beach, St. Petersburg/Tampa, Ocean City, Savannah, and Miami/Key West. Landshark's local clean-up efforts saw the participation of over 750 volunteers. The finale of the event is to be held in Pensacola.
The director of corporate relations at Ocean Conservancy, Betty Hallman, stated that cleanup events like these remind people of the impact of trash and the need for taking care of waterways and beaches. Landshark has endeavored to show that taking care of the coast and playing in the surf are two activities that go together.
Danny Ching, a paddleboarding champion, who is also a Landshark ambassador, took part in the program.
