DUNMORE has unveiled a new version of its DUN-SOLAR TPE solar module backsheet, which offers DuPont Tedlar polyvinyl fluoride film’s proven performance in a solar module construction that surpasses existing market prerequisites for durability and total cost of ownership.
The new advanced TPE backsheet offers DuPont Tedlar polyvinyl fluoride film’s proven performance in a solar module construction that surpasses existing market prerequisites for durability and total cost of ownership. It is engineered with the latest Tedlar oriented polyvinyl fluoride film, adhesive materials and enhanced polyester core, thus providing damp heat performance more than 3000 h at a reasonable price.
The new TPE backsheet made of upgraded materials increases solar module productivity and longevity due to its ability to give better protection to the solar module's circuitry against moisture and performance loss. It also provides more durable insulation that protects workers against electrical shocks during maintenance of solar modules.
Since solar modules’ warranty periods increase to 25 years and above, manufacturers are looking for superior-performance components that withstand performance loss or premature failure. In addition, they have to maintain their costs low so that solar energy can be competitive with the price of other proven energy sources. DUN-SOLAR TPE is one of the first UL-listed backsheets integrating the latest Tedlar oriented polyvinyl fluoride film.
Customers willing to use the new advanced TPE backsheet can also get the benefits of DUNMORE’s SmoothStart engineering services program, whereby one of DUNMORE’s engineers will be placed at the customer's facility without any additional cost. The DUNMORE engineer helps the customers’ in-house engineers in solving complex production issues, thus facilitating customers to start production runs earlier and decrease material loss considerably.
DUNMORE will start the full production of DUN-SOLAR TPE in the third quarter of 2012.
