Leading solar solutions provider, Vivint Solar has forayed into the Southern California market.
Residents of greater San Diego can now avail the economical solar solutions offering from the company. An affiliate of Vivint, Vivint Solar offers its customers affordable and clean energy from renewable resources. The tariff of the solar power provided by Vivint is 15 cents per kilowatt. The company has priced its offering five cents per kilowatt lesser than its close competitor.
Vivint Solar facilitate its customers to avail savings in money spent on energy by providing power purchase agreements (PPA). As per the PPA, Vivint Solar will design, develop and install solar panels for the customers and will also maintain them. The arrangement requires no investment from the customers. The agreement only stipulates that customers purchase the solar power generated from their installed solar panels at rates that are cheaper than the utility power rates.
Allyson Parsons, a San Diego resident and customer of Vivint Solar, stated that the affordability and the lack of up-front investment costs made significant financial sense to choose the power plan from Vivint Solar.
Tanguy Serra, President of Vivint Solar, expressed excitement at the company’s entry into the mature solar market of San Diego and stated that the city’s demography and sunny weather is favorable for sale of solar power. He also revealed the company’s intention to expand their sales and services into Central California’s Fresno County. Vivint Solar currently provides its solar energy solutions in Hawaii, Massachusetts and New Jersey apart from California.
