Renewable Energy Presents REC Global Partner Awards to Six Distributors

Renewable Energy Corporation (REC), the largest European supplier of solar modules, awarded the REC Global Partner Awards to six of its partner distributors.

“The 2012 REC Global Partner Awards recognize the success of our global partners and highlights some of their special achievements in sales and marketing activities over the last year”, said Luc Graré, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, REC. “REC continues to focus on strong and reliable partnerships in Europe, USA and Asia Pacific (APAC) as a major building block for our global business. We are committed to our partners and this is more important than ever in these challenging solar market conditions.”

The six winners are Advantac (Japan), Enel (Italy), EWS (Germany), GP Joule (Germany), Endesa G.C. (Spain) and Kanoria Chemicals & Industries Limited (India). Advantec, a solar module distributor based in Japan, is the APAC Growth Partner of the Year for their strong sales performance in Japan with 3.7 MW sold in 2012. Enel Green Power from Italy, dedicated to developing and managing renewable energy generation at an international level, won the award for Distributor of the Year. Enel Green Power bought over 30 MW in 2012 despite difficult market conditions. EWS of Germany successfully entered into the Danish market in 2012 and supplied REC modules for the largest installation in Northern Europe, helping them earn the Marketer of the Year award.

German project developer GP Joule was named Project Developer of the Year thanks in part to a 60 MW agreement for solar power plant installations in France and Germany. “We are very pleased to be honored with the REC Global Partner Award 2012”, added Ove Petersen, CEO, GP Joule. “Together with REC, we strive to provide customers with continuous high quality and excellent yield performance.”

The Spanish utility Endesa G.C. won the award for Installation of the Year for a 2.4 MW rooftop installation and carport at the IKEA store at Jerez de la Frontera in Spain. The sixth and final award, Emerging Market Project Partner of the Year, went to Kanoria Chemicals & Industries Limited in India. They entered the Indian solar market with a 5 MW solar power plant installation that is amongst the first projects in India to benefit from the Renewable Energy Certificate Mechanism.
