Partnering with Samsung and Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), the Brazos Valley Solid Waste Management Agency, Inc.(BVSWMA, Inc.) will stage a special E-Waste Collection Event Saturday October 27th, 2012 from 7 am to 2 pm at no charge to consumers.
ERI, the largest recycler of electronic waste in the nation, will safely recycle all e-waste collected at this special event at the University Services Building (Harvey Road entrance on the left after Veteran’s Park), serving the residents of College Station and surrounding areas.
The event is designed to give the community at large an opportunity to safely unload their old computers, television sets, and other outdated, unusable or unwanted consumer electronic items for proper recycling that is safe and environmentally sound. Samsung is working with ERI to sponsor the e-waste takeback event and encourage participating residents to sign up for the ENERGY STAR Pledge.
“With their collaborative support and proactive actions here in College Station and across the U.S.,” said Micaela Farrington-Aguilar of the BVSWMA, Inc., “Samsung continues to recognize the significance of being a formative leader in the electronic profession by being responsible recyclers of electronic waste and stewards of the environment.”
“It’s good to once again be partnering with Samsung for a special regional takeback program here in Texas,” said John Shegerian, Chairman and CEO of ERI. “We are proud to once again be able to help the good people of College Station become more environmentally responsible by offering them a convenient opportunity to safely dispose of their old electronic devices.”
