UK Set to Increase Investment in Renewable Power

The team at renewable energy company Enviko are among a number of specialists delighted by the news that the UK is set to dramatically increase investment in renewable power.

It has recently been reported that the government has agreed terms on a deal to boost support for renewable energy in a bid to improve the UK's reputation as a supporter of low-carbon technology and to lower the country's carbon footprint in line with previous targets.

Enviko is a leading provider of renewable energy solutions on an industrial, commercial and domestic level and those behind the company are thrilled that the government is keen to encourage a greener approach to energy in the future. Enviko specialises in solar panels, hydro power, wind power, solar photovoltaic power, solar thermal power, air and ground source heat pumps and biomass heating systems - all of which represent greener solutions when it comes to generating energy.

It has been reported that spending on renewable power generation will rise from the current level of £2.35bn a year to £7.6bn a year by 2020 with the chief aim of the cash injection being to diminish the UK's present dependence on gas - one of the energy sources experts suggest is at risk.

Currently, renewable energy accounts for just 11 per cent of the UK's overall combination, but it is hoped that by 2020 that figure will to closer to 30 per cent. The extra investment is intended to help energy bosses achieve this level of renewable energy generation.

Divisions between MPs in the energy and finance departments have caused considerable strain en route to forming a cohesive plan for the future of greener energy in Britain. However, the wholesale reduction of carbon footprints has long been on the agenda of this government and previous governments, and the latest boost in investment represents a huge step forward in the fight to reform the UK's attitude to energy.
