Swedish ozone generator supplier Primozone has been selected to provide an ozone generator for an odor control project at the Mestilla biodiesel plant in Lithuania.
The Mestilla biogas plant is an environmentally friendly producer of biodiesel. The biodiesel is produced from rapeseed oil and during the process of pressing the oil a distinctive smell of hydrogen sulfide is formed. This distinctive smell is a nuisance to the neighborhood as the plant is situated in a densely populated area in the port of Klaipeda.
Primozone has, together with Mestilla, created a compact solution that can be fitted into the existing premises. A minimum amount of ozone is blended into the plant’s exhaust, which is diverted into a new reaction chamber where the odor is eliminated.
The ozone generator has spare upgrade capacity if Mestilla would want to increase plant production in the future without replacing their odor control system.
Using ozone in industrial air applications is a cost efficient chemical-free solution.
The majority shareholder in Mestilla is Linas Agro Group AB and 49% of the shares are owned by Statoil.
