Liberty Power Donates Renewable Energy Certificates for USHCC Annual Convention

Liberty Power, the nation’s largest independent retail electric supplier, is proud to announce its partnership with the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC).

This alliance is geared toward providing tens of thousands of dollars in annual scholarships to eligible students pursuing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education with an interest in pursuing careers in the fields of energy or the environment.

“The USHCC is proud to partner with Liberty Power to award scholarships to tomorrow’s visionaries, who will soon carry on the responsibility of preserving the perennial American Dream,” said USHCC President & CEO Javier Palomarez. “By giving students the resources they need, we are stemming the tide of restrictive education costs and making sure we continue to out-innovate the rest of the world.”

“Liberty Power’s devotion to our nation’s foremost duty – preparing our youth for the challenges and opportunities of the future – is commendable, and we are honored to partner with them in this endeavor,” said Marc Rodriguez, USHCC Chairman of the Board.

This year, the newly-established Liberty Power Bright Horizons Scholarship will award one $10,000 scholarship and two $5,000scholarships to students interested in pursuing careers in the fields of environment and energy. The first-ever award winners will be announced at this year’s USHCC National Convention, set to take place in Chicago on September 15th-17th. Students who are currently enrolled in an accredited two or four-year university that have an interest in the field of energy or the environment are welcome to apply by August 25, 2013.

“There is a clear connection between my educational and life experiences and how I, with the help of others, have applied those lessons to get to where I am today,” said David Hernandez, co-founder & CEO of Liberty Power. “Now, we at Liberty Power are proud to support promising young minds in their own educational pursuits.”
