Georgia Power announced today the newest addition to its portfolio of energy efficiency programs – instant savings of 20-50 percent on ENERGY STAR® Certified LEDs at participating The Home Depot stores throughout the state.
Georgia Power customers will receive immediate savings at the register with no coupons or mail-in rebates necessary. The promotion is valid through November 30, 2013, while supplies last.
In addition to the instant savings on the cost of the bulb, customers will enjoy energy savings from more efficient lighting for years to come. ENERGY STAR Certified LEDs consume up to 75 percent less energy than standard incandescent bulbs and can last up to 25 years. LEDs that qualify for the incentive will be marked with a Georgia Power label in stores.
"Our CFL program has long been successful in helping customers make small adjustments that deliver big energy savings," said Michele Wagner, director of energy efficiency for Georgia Power. "LEDs are an exciting new lighting technology that offers not only outstanding quality and performance, but also high energy efficiency, and this promotion is a great way to help encourage our customers to light their homes more efficiently."
In addition to the new LED Lighting incentive, Georgia Power customers can take advantage of discounts on select packages of ENERGY STAR Certified compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) at participating locations of The Home Depot, Lowe's and Walmart, as well as membership clubs Sam's Clubs and Costco.
