The water leaders from across the state that make up the California Utility Executive Management Association (CUEMA) will take part in the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) fall conference in Los Angeles, December 3-6. Conference goers will have an opportunity to learn more about CUEMA and interact with some of the state's top industry managers.
Members of this premier non-profit organization include general managers, executive management, industry consultants and other water industry leaders. ACWA's conference entitled "#ALLIN for California Water" at the JW Marriott Hotel at L.A. Live is a chance for our members to come together with elected officials and staff from districts around the state and confront the industry's most challenging issues.
"Water is getting more attention than ever before and industry leaders need to be poised to address broader issues," said Rick Gilmore, general manager of Byron Bethany Irrigation District and president of CUEMA. "The ACWA conference gives our members another chance to collaborate on big picture solutions."
ACWA's members represent districts supplying 90 percent of the water delivered in the state. The conference brings more than 1500 water industry professionals together each year. The opening day keynote address will be given by chair of the California Assembly Water, Parks and Wildlife Committee, Anthony Rendon, who will share his thoughts on the upcoming legislative session and potential action on the 2014 water bond.
Information about CUEMA will be available at its booth in space #207 in the exhibit hall and at the Welcome Reception on Tuesday, December 3 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Founded in 2010, CUEMA's primary goal is to serve the needs of water utility professionals in California by providing groundbreaking conferences, an arsenal of valuable resources and constant support through mentorship.
