Orion Energy Systems Selected as Finalist for Prestigious Platts 2013 Global Energy Award

Orion Energy Systems Inc. was named as a finalist in the Leading Technology category for the prestigious Platts 2013 Global Energy Award. Orion joined a distinguished list of finalists including Caterpillar, Inc. (named best in the Leading Technology category).

Orion Senior Vice President of Sales Josh Kurtz and Regional Vice President Vince Alonzi attended the Awards Ceremony on December 12th at the historic Waldorf Astoria in New York City.

Receiving distinction as a Platts Global Energy Award Finalist is an honor, and gives the finalists a way to showcase their achievements and demonstrate the “vision and leadership” of the company.

Orion was recognized as a finalist by Platts for its innovative LED Door Retrofit (LDR) technology. Time and again, Orion has developed award-winning fixture designs that deliver maximum light output with minimum energy input. The design of the energy efficient LDR has simplified the retrofitting of fluorescent troffers to save companies time, energy and money. Considering that there are an estimated 964 million troffers currently in the United States lighting market, the potential economic and environmental impact of the LDR is remarkable.

“We are honored to be named a finalist and we will continue to offer the most cutting-edge products in the lighting and energy saving industry,” said Promotion and Sales Operations Vice President Jennifer McCue.

Orion Energy Systems won the 2008 Platts Global Energy Award in the Sustainable Technology Innovation of the Year category.
