Xylem Launches New Energy-Efficient Pumps for HVAC and Plumbing Applications at 2014 AHR Expo

Xylem Inc., a leading global water technology company focused on addressing the world’s most challenging water issues, launched new energy-efficient pumps for commercial heating and cooling applications at the 2014 Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating Exposition (AHR Expo) at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City.

“Business owners are increasingly turning to efficient building operations to lower their energy costs and environmental impact,” said Ken Napolitano, president of Xylem’s Applied Water Systems business. “These new products underscore Xylem’s commitment to our customers’ – and the industry’s – need for system solutions that reduce overall cost of ownership, lower energy and operational costs, and support sustainability efforts.”

The company has redesigned the complete line of its best-in-class Bell & Gossett® brand Series 1510 pump – now called the e-1510 – to provide the highest overall efficiency in the end-suction market for HVAC and plumbing applications. With the highest pump performance compared to other similar pumps, the Series e-1510 reduces electricity consumption, improves overall system performance and lowers lifecycle costs.

The e-1510’s new and extensive efficiency profile enables users to maintain significantly higher levels of efficiency over a much wider range of operating conditions. Its dramatic improvement in efficiency is the result of cutting edge computational fluid dynamics (CFD) design technology, deep hydraulic engineering expertise, and Xylem’s comprehensive knowledge of HVAC and plumbing applications. The company also introduced the highly efficient Bell & Gossett® brand ecocirc® XL large wet rotor circulator pumps that leverage state-of-the-art hydraulic performance, advanced motor design and smart communications capabilities to improve operations across a broad range of commercial HVAC and plumbing applications.

Designed to meet both heating and cooling requirements in a single device with a user-friendly interface, the circulators are ideal for use in commercial heating and cooling systems, domestic hot water applications, solar-thermal systems and ground source heat pumps.
