Ross Solar Group Sets Up 32.7KW Rooftop Solar System for Congregational Church Of Brookfield

The Ross Solar Group has completed installation of a 32.7–kilowatt rooftop solar system for the Congregational Church of Brookfield. The system is expected to generate a significant percent of the buildings' electricity needs on which it's installed and operating.

"This solar project is a great fit for our organization. We expect that the high performance solar technology will lower our long-term cost of electricity compared to current and future commercial electric rates over the next 20 years," said Church House Chairperson Ken Arifian. "Ross Solar Group's commitment to quality, communication, and customer service made our choice easy when selecting the right partner for this high profile, green building project."

One hundred high-efficiency SunPower solar panels have been installed on the roof of the church, which is located within the Brookfield Historic District. The solar power system is expected to generate in excess of 35,000 kilowatt hours of clean energy per year. According to estimates provided by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the system will offset almost 18 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.

The design and installation of this solar power system was made possible by Zero-Emission Renewable Energy Credits (ZREC) for small projects, awarded to the installer/operator by CL&P.

"We are thrilled to partner with the Congregational Church of Brookfield to help bring reliable solar electricity to the church and its membership," said Ross Solar Vice President Stephan Hartmann. "With the world's most efficient solar technology from SunPower, the church can expect to enjoy guaranteed performance and long-term savings over the life of the system."
