Diesel prices are escalating, rising by nearly a dollar per gallon over the last three months. As the cost of petroleum fuel escalates, shrewd fleet operators and drivers of diesel passenger cars are finding it even more economical to convert to Blue Sun Fusion, a premium B20 biodiesel.
Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC), the largest beer and wine distributor in the state of Colorado, recently selected Blue Sun Biodiesel as their biodiesel supplier.
"We're committed to using Blue Sun Fusion despite the fact that it may cost more than ultra low sulfur diesel because there is a net benefit environmentally and economically," said RNDC Fleet Manager Gregg Miller. "We save money as we operate our trucks and we reduce our carbon output."
Operating cost savings can be as high as 11% and drivers find it an easy way to keep the total cost per mile down. The savings using Blue Sun's biodiesel are generated by improved fuel economy and reduced maintenance costs, as follows:
- A 3-7% increase in fuel economy saves 12 to 28 cents per gallon
- The 50% greater interval between oil changes saves 4 to 6 cents per gallon
- Savings on emissions retesting fees saves 1.5 cents per gallon
- Extended fuel injector and fuel pump life saves up to 1.25 cents per gallon
- Extended engine overhaul intervals save up to 3.5 cents per gallon
Total savings per gallon from using Blue Sun Fusion B20 biodiesel ranges from 22 to 40 cents per gallon. The calculations are based on over 450 million miles of customer data since 2003.
Blue Sun Biodiesel President and COO, Mike Miller notes, "Conversion of fleets, retail pumps and fuel distribution facilities is simple, easy and fast, plus our customer service ensures a smooth transition for all our new customers." Miller said the easiest way to start using Blue Sun Biodiesel is to see their list of authorized distributors at http://www.goBlueSun.com or call them at 303-865-7700 in Colorado or 866-BIO-FUEL from anywhere.
