Corning Incorporated announced today that the Delphi Corporation awarded Corning Shanghai Company, Ltd. (CSCL) with the Pinnacle Quality Award for Supplier Excellence. The annual award, established in 2004, recognizes top suppliers for their contributions to Delphi's culture of excellence. The Pinnacle Award is given to a select group of suppliers based on their quality, service, competitive cost expectations and delivery performance. CSCL, Corning's clean-air products facility in Shanghai, China, is one of only 14 companies in four countries to receive the award.
"This is a significant honor for CSCL," said Avery H. Nelson, general manager of Corning Shanghai Company, Ltd. "This award is a reflection of our many dedicated employees who work diligently to deliver quality products, systems design and engineering services to Delphi and to our global customer base."
Sid Johnson, Delphi vice president, global supply management, said, "Congratulations to the Corning Shanghai Company, Ltd. Many of the contributors to your achievements are working diligently at your facilities. Please extend our congratulations to them for their dedication to excellence."
CSCL, a wholly owned subsidiary of Corning Incorporated, is a state-of-the-art, high-tech, emissions-control substrate facility that first began shipping product in early 2001. CSCL recently expanded its facility to help meet anticipated Asian and global demand for clean-air products for vehicle emissions control systems. In addition to manufacturing advanced substrates, CSCL includes sales, marketing and engineering operations that provide world-class service for Corning customers in China and throughout Asia.
