Fuel cells on boats and magnetic refrigeration, a few Swiss ways of protecting the environment through new technologies. Join swissnex San Francisco in welcoming the University of Applied Science Western Switzerland (HES-SO) and learn about energy savings and renewable energy use.
The event, at swissnex San Francisco on July 1st, 2008, at 6:30 pm, is free of charge and will feature the ThinkSwiss Climate Trail poster exhibit. How much do you know about climate change? Not so sure where to start? Why not start with us and test your knowledge on the Climate Trail poster exhibit?
Prof. Peter Egolf will discuss the potential of heat flux conversion to electrical power by the magnetic Curie wheel method. Prof. Osmann Sari helps reduce environmental impacts of producing cold through magnetic refrigeration at room temperature. Want to go boating this summer? With better efficiency, zero emission and almost zero noise, fuel cell technology offers an efficient alternative for motorized navigation. Prof Jean-Francois Affolter will present Swiss experiences and application to
protect our lakes and rivers.
This event and exhibit take place within the scope of the ThinkSwiss Program.
