Royal HaskoningDHV has been appointed by North Falls Offshore Wind to provide Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) services in support of the Development Consent Order (DCO) application. The project is a proposed extension to Greater Gabbard wind farm in the southern North Sea.
Royal HaskoningDHV is delighted to be supporting North Falls Offshore Wind Farm, a joint venture between SSE Renewables and RWE Renewables. North Falls will provide an important contribution to the UK’s ambitious target for offshore wind to provide enough electricity to power all homes in the country by 2030, as announced by the United Kingdom’s Government last month.
Daniel Harper, consents manager at North Falls, said: “We welcome Royal HaskoningDHV to the team and look forward to benefitting from their significant and comprehensive expertise in the sector. Their appointment marks the kick off of our EIA process and is a tangible step forward in this early phase of North Falls’ development.”
Ed Frost, Royal HaskoningDHV Project Director said: “This is an exciting opportunity to continue our leading role in offshore wind consultancy. We will be advising on a range of offshore and onshore disciplines that are required to successfully deliver a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project, incorporating our collective experience, having consented 12GW of offshore wind in the United Kingdom.”
As part of the EIA and Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA), Royal HaskoningDHV will work closely with North Falls Offshore Wind and their wider team to develop management and mitigation measures to ensure the successful and sustainable development of North Falls.
