It is the first time that an energy retailer has been named at the awards. The DrivingElectric Awards recognise the best electric vehicles in various categories, along with companies that have pioneered new and exciting projects in the industry.

The Electric Juice Network was launched in May 2020, and built to offer EV drivers a single way to pay for all their charging - whether charging at home, on the street, or on the highway. Since its inception, it has welcomed six partner charge point operators including Char.gy, Plug-N-Go and Osprey (formerly Engenie), bringing the number of partner charge points to over 1,000 across the UK.

Electric Juice Network users can benefit from a single card that is usable at any participating charger and from the costs of the charge sent directly to their home energy bill, making it faster and easier to get around. The service is open to all drivers of electric cars so that everyone can benefit from this new and more convenient way of charging - whether or not they are already one of Octopus Energy’s 1.8 million customers.

Zoisa Walton of the Electric Juice Network comments:

“Octopus is on a mission to make it easier and cheaper to go green, and our Electric Juice Network is just one instance where we’ve made it more desirable to pick the greener option. It makes EV charging on the go already considerably easier, and it is a crucial step towards providing a totally seamless charging experience, wherever you are in the country.

“I am over the moon that the innovation of our team is being recognised by DrivingElectric, proving that our solutions are helping to drive the transition to a clean, green transport system.”

Richard Ingram, Editor of DrivingElectric, comments:

"While the recent advent of contactless payment means using different public chargers isn’t as complicated as it used to be, innovations like Octopus Energy's Electric Juice network makes keeping track of costs a simple and straightforward affair. The fact that electric car drivers can link it all together with their home charger, in one bill, is the icing on the cake."
