Tyco Thermal Controls will be exhibiting its extensive range of Raychem energy-efficient heating solutions for commercial and residential construction projects at Interbuild 2008. The Company offers ‘best in class’ electrical systems for frost protection, underfloor heating, hot water temperature maintenance and snow melting applications. These feature the significant energy-savings achievable by employing self-regulating cable technology with intelligent control systems. Visitors to the stand will also discover the ‘smart’ support services available to developers, specifiers, contractors and installers.
Raychem self-regulating frost protection systems went modular earlier this year with the highly successful launch of FlexiClic™ and this versatile new connection system will be on the stand at Interbuild for the first time. FlexiClic™ modules make the installation of frost protection to external pipework and rooftop drain paths quicker and easier. They simply click together as required and virtually any layout can be configured with just a single junction accessory.
Within the Raychem range of electric Underfloor Heating systems are energy-efficient solutions for all traditional floor surfaces, including wood. The offering encompasses both self-regulating cables systems and ultra-thin mats. Tyco Thermal Controls supports its underfloor heating systems with ‘smart’ design software, an interactive installer website and its 12 year manufacturer’s triple-warranty.
By heat-tracing hot water pipes Raychem HWAT maintain temperatures and deliver instant hot water at every tap from a single pipe system. The system offers significant energy-savings (up to 50%) and by eliminating the need for recirculation plumbing lowers installed costs too.
Raychem electric snow and ice melting systems offer a reliable method of keeping exposed pedestrian and vehicular access areas open and safe during wintry weather. They are significantly more efficient than spreading sand/salt or committing manpower to removing snow after it has been allowed to accumulate and activate only when the ambient conditions are conducive to snowfall or ice formation. With recent new additions to the range there are now solutions for small areas such as pedestrian walkways, paths and steps right through to large applications like vehicular ramps and aircraft aprons.
For total system integrity, Raychem systems are offered with intelligent controls capable of integration into building management systems (BMS) and designed to further enhance energy-efficiency. Architects, contractors and installers also have access to a range of ‘smart’ tools to assist in selecting, designing and installing the optimum thermal solution for their application.
