Leading Swedish solar energy technology company is now ready to ship two of its DUO systems for the manufacturing of CIGS thin film solar cells to Sunflare to be installed in Sunflare’s solar cell megafactory in Nanjing, eastern China.
“It is good to resume trade with China and the rest of Asia and the world again after the corona pandemic which effectively stopped trade for 18 months,” said Sven Lindström, CEO, Midsummer. “We have been waiting for this for a long time and hope to resume and increase customer meetings and sales of machinery in the next few months and years.”
The two DUO systems will be installed at Sunflare’s newest megafactory in Nanjing as machines number three and four in a planned series of eight – there is already two DUO’s operating in the factory which has been designed for eight DUO machines.
“We are extremely positive about thin film CIGS solar cells becoming the leading technology for building integrated photovoltaics in a variety of applications – roofs, facades, vehicles etc,” said Philip Gao, CEO of Sunflare. “Midsummer’s manufacturing equipment is by far the best to produce these types of cells and our ambition is to increase the number of DUO machines in our factory to the maximum eight within the course of 2022.”
