Position Green, the Nordic region’s largest, independent pure play sustainability company, has launched a new podcast series to accompany its annual ESG100 report - Sustainable Edge. The series, hosted by Position Green Co-Founder and Executive Chair Joachim Nahem, will centre on a variety of guests who bring their unique perspective of corporate sustainability transformation and ESG, and how best to drive value creation and increase competitiveness by turning ESG data insights into targeted action.
In this inaugural episode of Sustainable Edge, Position Green invited Hege Marie Norheim, Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs & Sustainability at Freyr Battery Norway, a Norwegian-founded leader in developing environmentally friendly, grid level battery storage systems, listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
Discussions dove right into the heart of the energy transition, when host and guest explored Freyr’s goals to provide industrial scale clean battery solutions to reduce global emissions and help alleviate the climate crisis. As typifies many of these podcast episodes, Hege Maries shared Freyr’s journey, right from its very inception to the IPO and listing on the New York Stock Exchange, its commitment to a sustainable value chain, and why having a ‘green’ product is not enough to drive the energy transition.
Other themes covered include poignant discussions on ESG materiality, human rights in supply chains, global regulations reacting to the United States’ Inflation Reduction Act, and the continued rise of green energy infrastructure.
The ESG100 report, of which this podcast series accompanies, is entering its sixth year. This large scale study represents an industry first in its assessment of how well prepared listed companies are for the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), expected to become EU law and implemented on 1 January 2024. In this report, those assessed represent the largest 100 companies from Norway, Denmark, and Sweden, including some of Europe’s most recognizable corporate names.
Future guests Position Green looks forward to welcoming onto this podcast will include: Alexandra Morris, Investment Director at Skagen Funds; Kiran Aziz, Head of Responsible Investments at KLP, and Hugo Munthe-Kaas, Head of Compliance at DLA Piper Norway.
