Nature Focus, the leading project developer for global indigenous-led conservation projects has selected Hyphen Global AG’s world leading real-time atmospheric-based digital monitoring, reporting, and verification (aMRV) solutions to be deployed across one million acres of its global Afforestation, Reforestation and Restoration (ARR), improved land management and conservation projects, starting in Q1 2025
The projects set to be equipped with Hyphen Global’s solution include mangrove restoration initiatives in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, reforestation projects across Papua New Guinea and Hawaii, and grassland conservation work in over 9 ranches in the United States. Hyphen's software will be used to accurately record and analyze ecosystem behaviors through data collected from eddy covariance towers in partnership with LI-COR. This results in real-time, precision quantification of greenhouse gas (GHG) removals or reductions across its various conservation and restoration initiatives.
Hyphen Global’s aMRV solution will quantify crucial GHG removal and reduction data across one million acres of Nature Focus-led initiatives, providing insights into growth rates and environmental variations affected by dynamic climate conditions and work to improve land management practices.
Nature Focus will also deploy Hyphen Global’s aMRV solution to capture data on the climatic impacts of regenerative ranching and irrigation offsetting projects across 200,000 acres of the U.S. landscape. Hyphen’s aMRV solution will ensure the delivery of large-scale, precision GHG measurements and quantification to validate and optimize carbon removal on ranchland projects in real time.
GHG quantification is essential for verifying carbon sequestration and generating high-integrity carbon credits, Hyphen Global’s scalable aMRV solution allows for continuous monitoring across large and small agricultural landscapes, while enabling transparency and auditability of all data flows. This integration also captures important co-benefits such as water retention and biodiversity improvements, helping to support adaptive management practices that optimize both carbon capture and ecosystem health across Nature Focus projects.
While traditional financial systems often focus solely on economic metrics, this partnership will benchmark success through the incorporation of ecological, cultural, and social well-being. Hyphen’s aMRV technology provides the necessary data to support this by tracking environmental impacts often undervalued in conventional economic models, allowing Nature Focus to prioritize projects that generate multi-capital returns through a combination of ecological, social, and cultural benefits—redefining the parameters of impact in the modern era.
Miles Austin, CEO of Hyphen Global said: "Our partnership with Nature Focus represents a perfect collaboration of action and solution. We want to underpin great change across the globe, and by partnering with practitioners who are working to protect vast swathes of land, we can ensure accountability and governance across vital carbon sinks. Every project seeking to preserve and protect land must have the right equipment on the ground to measure and quantify greenhouse gasses, to allow practitioners to analyze the impact of carbon removals and reductions in real-time. We are thrilled that Nature Focus has chosen our solution.”
Jeffrey Brown of Nature Focus said: “At Nature Focus, we are committed to building a sustainable future for humanity by empowering and enriching the lives of indigenous communities across the globe. We exist as a force for good and therefore must remain accountable to our stakeholders. Our partnership with Hyphen Global reflects our commitment to the global carbon market and ensuring that the land of Indigenous people is protected and valued through proof of carbon significant reduction. By quantifying nature in real time – we show the world its true value, and that is what this partnership hinges on, the pursuit of a better, sustainable future through the lens of rigorous accountability.”
