Electric Vehicle Podcast Celebrates Anniversary

On Tuesday, October 14 at 1:00pm Eastern, the hosts of the EVcast will broadcast their 100th episode at EVcast.com. Evcast is a show dedicated to educate and entertain audiences around the globe on the practicality and availability of electric vehicles.

Within the past several months, we have been introduced to historically high gas prices, the Chevy Volt, and an on-demand daily show called the EVcast - a show dedicated to educate and entertain audiences around the globe on the practicality and availability of electric vehicles. On Tuesday, October 14 at 1:00pm Eastern, the hosts of the EVcast will broadcast their 100th episode at EVcast.com.

Back in May of this year, Bo Bennett, CEO of iGrOOps, LLC and business partner Ryan Levesque, decided to take their passion for electric vehicles and combine it with their passion for podcasting - an increasingly popular method for delivering on-demand audio content to computers and devices such as MP3 players, iPods, and iPhones. This combination of passion and technology led to the creation of the EVcast.

Since May of this year, the hosts of the EVcast have interviewed over 50 of the industries top executives, inventors, and evangelists including Professor Andy Frank, the "godfather" of the plug-in vehicle, Chelsea Sexton from the movie "Who Killed the Electric Car?", and automotive industry legend Malcom Bricklin. For a complete list of interviewees, see EVcast interviews (http://www.evcast.com/members/evcast/adminpages/interviews). They have reported over 500 EV related stories, and produced dozens of high-quality "shenanigans," like their spoof on global warming (see their YouTube video, "Global Warming School" (http://www.evcast.com/global-warming-school.html)).

"Podcasts can span quite a range of quality, EVcast's consistently high quality keeps me coming back 5 days a week," says Dr. John Briggs, dedicated daily listener to the EVcast. "Bo and Ryan put the EV news into context with comments that are thoughtful, occasionally sharply critical, and sometimes hysterically funny. Interviews with the key players in the EV world provide insight that is simply not available from any other source."

The EVcast is a free service to all who are interested and even offers free membership to their website, where members can see exclusive video content, participate in discussions, and participate in the live daily podcasts via web video chat technology. "We hope to eventually find a sponsor for the EVcast, but we are not actively seeking any at this time," says Bennett. Currently, the EVcast is 100% funded by the parent company, iGrOOps.com and completely ad-free.

So why the interest in electric vehicles? "There is no question in my mind that we are on the brink of a major industry change," says Bennett. "This move to electrified transportation will have extremely positive effects on our economy, environment, and national security. The future looks bright."
