Nidec Power is proud to announce the release of an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for the LSA 50.2 manufactured & assembled in Europe, marking a significant step forward in the alternator industry’s sustainability journey. This achievement makes the LSA 50.2 one of the very few alternators with an independently verified EPD—what we believe to be only the second ever in the sector.
As global industries push for greater transparency and environmental responsibility, EPDs provide essential insights into a product’s environmental footprint, throughout the product lifecycle. By securing this certification, Nidec Power reinforces its commitment to sustainability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
"This EPD is just the beginning," said David Sonzogni, President Nidec Power Europe & Asia. "Our approach is clear: first, we measure, then we reduce. Soon, we will introduce a comprehensive plan to enhance the sustainability of our entire Leroy-SomerTM product lineup.", stated Sylvain Vannier, CSR Director Europe & Asia.
Nidec Power’s upcoming initiatives will focus on reducing product impact across energy consumption, optimizing supply chain processes, and expanding efforts to include Scope 3 emissions. The company is setting clear, measurable targets to ensure continuous progress toward a lower environmental footprint.
Stay tuned as Nidec Power takes bold steps toward a greener future.
