Did you know youcan recycle Tyvek? DuPont Tyvek envelopes are made of high density polyethylene which is 100% recyclable.
Tyvek® can also be safely incinerated, and because it yields water and carbon dioxide, it essentially leaves no residue for disposal. And, if recyling or incineration are not options, Tyvek® can be safely landfilled. Because it is chemically inert and contains no binders, Tyvek® will not leach into groundwater.
A nationwide recycling program is in place
DuPont manages a nationwide recycling program that collects used Tyvek® envelopes – even printed Tyvek® envelopes - and recycles them into other useful materials that provide sound alternatives to the use of wood, including park benches, playground equipment, etc. To help you recycle all of your used Tyvek® envelopes, we’ve put the recycling infrastructure in place. Choose the way you wish to participate:
For Small Quantities (less than 25 envelopes/month)
Turn any Tyvek® envelope inside out, so the unprinted white surface shows on the outside. Stuff the inside-out Tyvek® envelope with other used Tyvek® envelopes for recycling.
Address and mail the envelope to:

For Medium Quantities (more than 25 but less than 500 envelopes/month)
