Sustainable Exterior Siding, EcoClad, Made from Recycled Paper

Sustainable surfaces pioneer KlipTech today announced the introduction of EcoClad, a revolutionary new exterior cladding product for residential and commercial applications, made from post-consumer recycled paper, wood fiber and bamboo fiber.

"The building products world thought we were crazy when we came up with the idea of using recycled paper to make siding," KlipTech president Joel Klippert said. "And EcoClad is truly an industry first: a totally sustainable exterior-grade siding derived from recycled bio-based material that rivals metal, brick and stucco in durability."

Comprised of a patent-pending 50/50 blend of Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified post-consumer recycled paper and wood fiber, as well as bamboo fiber, and bound together by a 100-percent water-based co-polymer resin, EcoClad is VOC- and benzene-free and can contribute to seven different credits within the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) building standards.

EcoClad's versatile texture and design offers a modern yet timeless appearance. The product can be custom color-matched, but is also offered in 10 stock wood grains and five stock matte colors. There are 200 other wood grains that can be specified for large orders as well. As with its sister product, EcoTop™, EcoClad's color will not fade or lose consistency over time. The siding product is offered in 4'x 8' panels that can be cut into dimensions to suit any exterior cladding application. Custom 4'x12' panels can be specified for large orders.
