As demands increase for environmentally progressive, sustainable packaging, Spartech Corporation a leading producer of engineered thermoplastic sheet materials, thermoformed packaging, polymeric compounds and concentrates, and engineered product solutions, has answered the call with EnviroSeal™, a family of sealable, polyester products designed to replace clear, rigid polyvinyl chloride (PVC) packaging.
“Sustainability, high performance, and versatility were key drivers in designing this family of products,” explained Jonathan Cage, director of Packaging Development for Spartech. “The EnviroSeal™ line meets a broad cross-section of PVC applications. It is specifically designed to suit individual manufacturing processes, requiring no tooling or capital expenditures. This product is the ‘drop in’ solution to many packaging needs including PVC replacement.”
EnviroSeal™ products contain comparable physical performance properties to PVC. These products are available with pre- or post-consumer content, can be Radio Frequency (RF) welded and heat-sealed to film or cards, and are ideally suited for use in food and non-food consumer packaging, electronics and warehouse club packaging, and industrial products.
Designed for use in blister packaging, clamshells, produce containers, and display boxes and containers, EnviroSeal™ products offer superior clarity and deliver impact, trimming and packaging performance in three custom-designed products – XP20 and XP30 which are US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved for food contact, and XP40. All products in the EnviroSeal™ line are recyclable in polyethylene terephthalate (PET) streams.
“EnviroSeal™ products reflect Spartech’s strong commitment to environmental stewardship,” adds Cage. “We are pleased to continue to offer the packaging industry high quality, sustainable products with built in performance characteristics suited to their process needs.”
EnviroSeal™ XP20, XP30 and XP40 samples are available from a Spartech representative. Spartech also offers the UltrosRenu™ family of products for PVC replacement.
