Consumers soon will be enjoying the cleanest air possible in without sacrificing the environment, style -- or their health. Alen Corporation announced today their newest product called the "AirMD" will be the only "green" air purifier that is certified lead-free, ozone safe, and Energy Star qualified by both the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy.
The first of its kind, backed by the industry's best lifetime warranty, the four-speed, portable AirMD marries modern decor-enhancing design with an advanced HEPA filtration system, UV lamp set to last 3 to 5 years, ionizer, and 24-hour programmable timer. Individuals suffering from the agony of asthma, cigarette smoke, pet dander, allergies, cooking odors, dust and pollen now have an eco-friendly air cleaning solution.
"We are offering the first 'green' lead-free air purifier in the U.S. that is Energy Star qualified," said Peter Mann, CEO, Alen Corporation. "Lead is a highly toxic metal that makes children, pets, and adults extremely sick -- and a recent study even links early exposure to lead to Alzheimer's disease. Energy Star rated products -- such the AirMD -- can save about a third on energy bills with similar savings of greenhouse gas emissions."
The AirMD weighs 17 lbs., is 8"W x 11"D x 28"H, and has power consumption of 55 watts. The design is a translucent outer core with two color choices for the inner core -- bamboo green or white. The AirMD is best used in areas up to 400 sq. ft., it will be available July 2008, and the retail price is $499 U.S.
