The Gull 4000 solar thermal collector is equipped with copper brazed joints that impart strength and material compatibility to the collector. The solar collector is coated with temperature resistant velvet black paint that lends an absorbent tough finish to the collector surface. All the individual fins of the thermal collector are integrated as one unit by means of a special interlocking feature. This feature lends the collector fins a high level of integrity and strength. The manifolds of the Gull 4000 solar collector are large enough to maximize water flow and distribution as well as enhance the level of heat collection.

The design of the heat collector accommodates a silicon-based heat transfer compound that serves to heighten the extent of heat transfer to the copper tubes from the absorber plate of the collector. The Gull 4000 solar thermal collector is available in three sizes, namely, 4 x 8 feet, 4 x 10 feet and 4 x 12 feet. The 4 x 8 feet solar collector has net collector area of 30.69 square feet and a maximum flow rate of five gallons per minute. This solar thermal collector weighs 42 pounds when dry and 51.6 pounds when wet.
