Apollo Solar manufactures the T80 Turbocharger solar charge controller, which is a single device integrated with battery charge management, Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT), charge information and communication. This solar charge controller is capable of providing a continuous output of 80A.
The T80 Turbocharger solar charge controller incorporates an Energy Monitor, which uses TriMetric Technology. The Energy Monitor is designed to trace the production and consumption of power, and to analyze the energy left in the battery. The output current is steadily reduced to protect the charger and is ramped up automatically once the temperature begins to decrease. There is an internal temperature-controlled fan with variable speed to retain maximum reliability. The Turbocharger solar charge controller can support different batteries such as GEL, Flooded Lead Acid and Absorbed Glass Mat. The 12/24/36/48V batteries can be charged with fail-safe calculated defaults and one-minute set-up.
The maximum output current of the T80 Turbocharger is at 80A up to 45 degrees Celsius. The input voltage ranges from 16 to 112V DC and the maximum open circuit voltage is 140V DC. The maximum power of the PV array is 5,200W. The charge controller incorporates different charge regulation modes such as absorption, bulk, manual equalization, auto equalization, float and standby. It is equipped with a LCD screen that displays output voltage and current, input voltage and current and battery state-of-charge in four lines. The T80 Turbocharger solar charge controller is available in a length of 15.2 inches, width of 8.5 inches and depth of 4.4 inches, and weighs up to 16 pounds.
