Biotechnology Industry Organization Organizes Educational Webinar to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions

According to WWF report, an educational webinar will be organized by the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), which will focus on the possibilities of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in industries throughout the world with the usage of biotechnology. This event will take place on 3 December, 2009 between 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. EST.

The Biotechnology Industry Organization expects to reduce at least 2.5 billion tons of greenhouse gas emissions every year. International collaborations are developed between a number of biotech companies in order to increase the industrial usage of biotechnology applications in textile finishing, biofuels production, and pharmaceutical manufacturing industries. Biotechnology climate friendly products including carpets are selected by the UN and are used at COP15 venues in Copenhagen.

Steve Davies from NatureWorks LLC, KinKead Reiling from Amyris and Claus Stig Pederson from Novozymes are the esteemed participants of this event. The educational webinar  requires a participation password. Apart from this webinar, two BIO conferences are planned for the year 2010. They include, BIO CEO & Investor Conference to be held in New York from 8 to 9 February, 2010, and another BIO Asia Partnering Conference will take place in Tokyo, Japan between 25 and 26 January, 2010.
