Linde North America is all set to take part in the upcoming SF Auto Show, thanks to AAA Northern California, which is featuring the company’s technology in the AA Greenlight Showcase for displaying new eco-friendly technologies.
Linde North America, a part of The Linde Group, will showcase its SFO and Altamont projects at the auto show. The show provides an opportunity to Californians to learn more about the green fuel options available and how the use of alternate fuels reduces carbon footprint in our environment.
According to the vice president for alternative energy of Linde, Mike Beckman, fueling vehicles has become increasingly cleaner in the past few months. Linde had partnered with Waste Management to build a gas plant at its Altamont landfill. The biogas, which is produced from decomposing garbage, is used to fuel trucks that are used to collect recyclable materials and trash from the residents of nearly twenty communities in the region.
Another ongoing project, a hydrogen fueling station at San Francisco International Airport will be ready for operation next year. This station will fuel SFO’s fleet of shuttle buses and fuel cell vehicles.
More information about both projects is available at the companies’ booth in the auto show. Show attendees can also view the hydrogen fuel dispenser and get to know how state residents are benefiting from their alternate energy technologies. Alternate fuels such as hydrogen and biogas will go a long way to keep our environment clean, but average citizens should have easy access to these fuels, according to Beckman.
Initiatives to raise awareness about alternative fuels, in partnership with various agencies such as the AAA, government and vehicle manufacturers, and public as well as private organizations, are also undertaken by Linde. The company is an associate member of the California Fuel Cell Partnership, whose goal is to push the commercialization of fuel cell automobiles. The auto show is scheduled from November 26 to December 2 at the Moscone Center.
