The Solahart L Series open loop thermosiphon system has a black polyester powder coated aluminum absorber that captures energy from the sun and transfers it in the six risers to heat water. The risers are made of copper for high thermal conductivity to ensure that maximum quantity of heat energy is transferred to the water. When water is heated up in the risers, the heated water rises up and it is replaced by cooler water from the water storage tank. The water heated through solar energy is stored for various applications. This solar hot water system offered by Wood Heat Stoves and Solar is equipped with a double-coated ceramic lined tank for storing water with a protective anode.

With the use of Solahart L Series open loop thermosiphon system, users can save water heating energy consumption from 50 to 80 percent. This solar hot water system includes an electric or gas booster to provide additional hot water. The L Series roof mounted system is a 181L system.
