Baxi manufactures the Solarflo In-roof collector panel that is designed to be integrated to the roof. The solar collector panel harnesses the solar power and converts it into thermal heat. The generated heat can be used for domestic hot water application. The Solarflo solar thermal system needs hydraulic pump station controller and a solar cylinder, besides the solar collector panels. The hydraulic pump station is provided along with the solar collector. However, the solar cylinder has to be bought separately.
The Solarflo In-roof collector panel has the ability to reduce the annual hot water heating costs by a maximum of 60 percent. Depending on the fuel replacement, the solar hot water collector can minimize carbon emissions by about 400kg every year. The solar thermal collector can also be combined with the traditional heating system. The number of solar collector panels that need to be installed depends on the solar cylinder size.
The number of solar thermal collectors also depends on the roof space available. The size of the solar cylinder is determined based on the amount of hot water required and number of people who will use it. The Solarflo In-roof collector panel transfers the captured heat to the fluid, which is circulated to the hot water cylinder through a solar coil. In the cylinder, the heat is transferred to the stored water.
