Ventera 10kW wind turbine suits rural setting and generates adequate electricity for farms and homes. Ventera 10kW Model VT10-240 has a rated power of 10kW at 29mph. The wind turbine can generate rated energy of 2,000kWh per month at 14.3mph. The cut-in wind speed is 6mph with the propeller running, and the survival wind speed is 130mph at 55m/s. The rotor has three blades, direct drive, free yawing control and it has downwind configuration. The rotor blades are made of glass fiber engineered plastic and the swept area of the rotor blades is 35sqm.
The main frame of the wind turbine is constructed with corrosion proof, cast 356-T6 recycled aluminum and it weighs 230kg. The turbine can be installed with LED lights to indicate generation of electricity and it is provided as an option. The generator consists of a rare earth permanent magnet alternator and has low wind start-up configuration.
The tower, on which the wind turbine is mounted, measures 35 to 80 feet. The tower has three legs, self-supporting, and hinged at base. It has tapered legs, with junction box at top, and wired from top to bottom. The inverter generates a rated power of 12kW and generates 12.5kW at peak.
